Lots of sun, snow and winter fun at 1670-2300 m
High above the city of Merano towers the sunny ski area Merano 2000, featuring a total of 8 ski lifts and 40 km of ski runs and slopes. Here you find something for everyone. There is for instance a 3.8 km long toboggan run, where you can go for hilarious night-time rides on Fridays. Skiers and snowboarders can look forward to carefully-groomed ski runs, ideally-suited to beginners and professionals alike. While kids and greenhorns may take advantage of the lower-altitude runs, the more experienced ones might head for the rather challenging ones at higher altitudes. A 5 km long cross-country run is found near to the base station and those interested in ski touring can look forward to a breath-taking panoramic view. A total of 7 huts and inns are spread all over the ski area. A special highlight is the weekly torch-lit descent of the ski instructors and the weekly night-time skiing. Not to forget Italy‘s longest mountain roller coaster.

Bob sled run "Alpin Bob"
A bob sled run, year-round, in South Tirol and the longest in Italy, at an elevation of 1900 meters. Meran 2000’s Alpine Bob winds through the trees and over the mountain terrain. “Buckle up!” they yell at the start, and then you are off in your sled to the base, on the rails, up to 12 meters high off the ground. The action, down the mountain, lasts for 1.1 kilometres. The young at heart and those looking for the perfect adrenalin rush love the track; they just can‘t get enough of it!
Refreshment facilities
There are 7 refreshment facilities throughout the ski area to cater for all kinds of hunger in between times.
